Not just Borax. BioGuard Optimizer is a specific blend of boric acid and sodium tetraborate, often referred to as sodium tetraborate pentahydrate. Borax is primarily sodium tetraborate decahydrate. The key difference is that BioGuard Optimizer is formulated to be more pH neutral, requiring less pH adjustment after application than borax.
